Nepal is an enchanting land of splendid beauty, blessed with very friendly and hospitable people. It’s cities, especially capital, Kathmandu is abound with innocent children with cherubic faces, living in extreme poverty.

Volunteers working in the Orphanage Work Program in Nepal will render invaluable help by, giving love and affection to the children, act as an older sibling to the children, teaching them basic conversational English, helping them in their school subjects, guiding them about personal hygiene and sanitation, taking them out on small excursions and engaging them in extracurricular activities and doing administrative work with the Orphanage staff.

epal have started to run and manage its own orphanage which currently houses 12 children aged between 4-12 years. This is also one of the placements where the volunteers work while in the orphanage project in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Program Information
Program Requirements
Volunteers must be 17 years or older at the beginning of the program. Volunteers need to have an open mind and flexible attitude for working in a new and different environment. The volunteer should bring energy and enthusiasm to make a difference.

Project Location
The project placements are located in the capital city of Kathmandu and sister cities of Patan and Bhaktapur.Most of the volunteer placements are located within 2-4 kms from their accommodation and volunteers use local transportation such as mini bus or taxis for their commuting.

Language & Orientation Week in Kathmandu
You have the option to start your volunteering with a week long language & culture orientation week in Kathmandu. (Starts 1st and 3rd Monday of every month) .The week aims to provide important Language instructions, safety tips, and cultural knowledge before volunteers start their work. Volunteers would also be given a 2 day tour around Kathmandu to see the beautiful sights it has to offer.



What we provide
Airport Receive/ Transfer: Volunteers are picked up from the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu by the local staff or coordinator.Those volunteers who will be already in Nepal will be met by the staff at a designated meeting point decided beforehand.

Orientation: A half day orientation will be provided by our staff. We cover areas like, culture, greetings, locations, transportation etc. Start your volunteering experience by taking the 1 week language & culture orientation week in Kathmandu.

Lodging: Accommodation is provided on a shared basis in a local Nepali family home. The home stay accommodations are neat and provide a comfortable stay during your volunteering period in Nepal. All accommodations have running water, electricity and all basic amenities available.

Food: 2 or 3 Nepali meals will be provided in this project depending on your work schedule. Typical meals provided include Dal( Lentils), Rice , Vegetables , Chicken and meat etc.

Insurance: All participants are covered for full comprehensive Travel and Medical insurance for their time of stay in our project.

In – Country travel assistance: Volunteers are assisted by the local staff and coordinators for any kind of assistance they need for their travel arrangements.

In-country support: 24 hours support provided by our local staff. You will be provided with the contact details of the local coordinator and staff who will be contactable 24 hrs once you are in country.

Pre-departure information: After we receive full and final payment all participants are provided by a pre-departure information booklet by e-mail which will have all vital information about your program. The Pre Departure Information Booklet provides the complete details of the country, project locations, Visas, Immunizations, Things to Pack list, Accommodations, Contact Information etc.


During your Free Time
You can visit the famous tourist markets of Thamel in Kathmandu and also go to Nagarkot or Pokhara on the weekends to witness the beautiful sunrise and sunset .
