Tabasamu Education Fund has taken a simple approach to development aid: we focus on the small things. We are a small organisation offering a personalised effort and contribution to the educational dreams of Kenyan children. We work directly with the children and their families, and make them part of our larger Tabasamu Family. You are welcome to join us in this effort! The Tabasamu Team is driven mainly by the following goals:

1. Family and Community Empowerment through Education. We petition the collection of funds to support children to stay in school and maintain a high academic standing. Knowledge is the best we can think of offering a child who has potential to change his/her future and that of his/her family and community. When we receive a direct sponsorship for a child, we ensure that 100% of these funds are used towards the specific education of that one child. There are no intermediary bodies and therefore no large overhead costs. Some of these children have never had a mentor, role model or big brother/sister with whom they could share their intrigues. The Tabasamu Team offers an emotional support network for all Tabasamu Kids, and you are welcome to give more than financial support to any of the children. Take this opportunity to meet someone who you would otherwise never have known about!

2. Encouraging Local Entrepreneurs, be they non-governmental initiatives, small businesses or schools, we offer micro-finance loans and technical support to local projects. These loans are often reserved for family members of sponsored children who have economically viable business ideas. This is an opportunity for families to begin supporting themselves and proudly educate their own children in the future. Occasionally, we also reach out to other educational institutions or youth groups for whom a small loan would allow them start some basic income generating activities.
