The host communities put on activities, meetings and discussions during the volunteers? free time (evenings and weekends). The volunteers have the opportunity to express themselves and share their points of view with the permanent members of the community.
Moreover, an evaluation session is sometimes held before volunteers leave the community. This enables each of the participants (the young people but also the companions and the community leaders) to take stock of the experience with a view to improving it in the future.

The work of the young volunteers helps to fund the community and to contribute to local, regional, national and international solidarity initiatives. Having ?helped to help?, the young people become aware of the importance of their actions and of their participation in the life of the movement.
